Pneumatic side doors of CRH2 and CRH380A EMU have the advantages of simple structure and low failure rate, but with the disadvantages of single functions and hardware upgrading difficulties, which could not meet the trend of train intelligence. Based on the key technology of side door of CRH2 EMU, the door control system of pneumatic door was redesigned. On the basis of the original pneumatic control system, electronic door control unit (EDCU) and other electrical components were added to control the opening and closing of pneumatic door through EDCU. The design structure and control logic of the door were optimized, and the functions of network communication, fault diagnosis and download were added, which eliminated the safety and single function problems of the existing pneumatic door in the operation process. The bench test showed that the door met the design requirements and ensured the safety and stability of the train at high speed.
