In order to realize intermittent power supply for tramcar, the types of intermittent power supply were determined according to the line characteristics, the types of energy storage devices were determined according to the demand of intermittent power supply for tramcar, the power requirements of energy storage devices were determined from the performance requirements of vehicles, and the energy requirements were determined by the conditions of non-charging of three continuous stations, accidental parking and accidental start-stop, which determined the scheme of the energy storage device finally. The vehicle has been commissioned and put into operation. The performance of the vehicle has passed the test and the actual operation test, which proved that the energy-type super capacitor met the requirements of intermittent power supply for tramcar.
