Using UIC standard Goodman-Smith diagram method and JIS standard fatigue evaluation method, the side beam welding structure of the subway bogie frame was taken as the research object, whose fatigue strength was contrastive studied by using finite element method. The fatigue strength of single-sided fillet welds and fillet welds in the back welding position was evaluated respectively by the crack propagation method and nominal stress method in the JIS standard. Meanwhile, the structural stress method of UIC was used to evaluate the fatigue strength of weld toe of fillet welds. The results showed that the fatigue evaluation by using the UIC standard to assess the weld toe of the welded joint of the frame met the fatigue strength requirements, while the fatigue evaluation by using the JIS standard to assess the welding root of the welded joint of the frame did not meet the fatigue strength requirements.Therefore, for the welded frame fillet welds, the two standards should be combined to evaluate the fatigue strength of both the weld toe and the weld root.
