The development history and present situation of foreign gauge-changeable train and bogie were introduced. The working principle and structural characteristics of gauge-changeable mechanisms in Spain, Japan, Germany, Poland, Korea, Switzerland and Russia were analyzed in detail, and their process of variable gauge was described in detail. Then, the key technical problems and design difficult point in the research of gauge-changeable train and bogie were analyzed and summarized.
