Design and main technology parameters of the main circuit of HXN6 hybrid shunting locomotive was introduced in detail. The control performance of shunting application and short-distance operation of the locomotive was expounded, and marshalling operation, pushing operation and application situation were analyzed comparatively. The test showed that: HXN6 locomotive greatly reduced the engine idle time, realized the locomotive braking energy recovery, and greatly improved the staff working conditions.
