In view of the regenerative braking failure problem, onboard braking resistors are usually used for metro vehicle regenerated energy absorption. With advantages and shortages analysis of over-temperature protection for existing braking resistor of chopping circuit for domestic metro vehicle, a novel logic protection scheme was proposed. The realization and advantages of the proposed method were introduced in detail, and the practical operation validation was carried out. The results showed that the protection method had obvious advantage with wide application prospects.
