In view of the current situation that locomotive compressed air quality was not under control, to ensure the safety operation of the locomotive, some ideas of online detection for locomotive compressed air quality were put forward. From the working principle, implementation plans, verification test and other aspects, design process of compressed air quality detecting device for locomotive was elaborated. Test result shows that the online detection equipment can measure the quality of compressed air effectively, and is a new guarantee for the safety and reliability operation of locomotive.
