Speed signal detecting and control principle of HXD1C electric locomotive was introduced. Speed signal abnormal phenomenon was divided into four types: signal loss, signal saltation, signal disturbing and signal misplacement, with fault cases, fault caused by which was analyzed deeply. Fault data and wave features, and processing methods were summarized. The analysis and method proposed above also suited the same platform products.
