Dual-source electric shunting locomotive has two bogie schemes: one with soft primary suspension and hard secondarysuspension, another one with hard primary suspension and soft secondary suspension. Through dynamics performance comparison analysisof the two schemes, and considering operation condition, bogie scheme with soft primary suspension and hard secondary suspension wasdecided. Through the analysis of the influence of secondary spring lateral and longitudinal arrangement on bogie performance, lateral arrangementsecondary spring was selected. Finally, the adaptability of a variety of traction devices in the dual-source shunting locomotive wasanalyzed, and the tilted traction rod mounted on the end of the bogie frame was adopted.
