In order to ensure the safety of train running and meet the demand of train maintenance, a serial-flash-memory based data logging unit was designed. This system could not only gather, analyze and record running data of train speed protection device automatically, but also provide external communication interface for host computer real-time monitoring and data dump. With operation test and field identification, the design was proved satisfying real-time and reliable data recording and status monitoring of speed protection device in harsh environments.
