A novel suspension control was proposed for maglev systems. Instead of using traditional inner single current or flux feedback loop, both current and flux measurements were used in the feedback loop. It was shown that the system of interests became linear timeinvariant, which made analysis much easier and leads to a better performance. Moreover, how to commission and calibrate the flux-loop with the help of some adaptive law was also discussed. In order to implement the designed controller in industry, the flux sensor coil was inserted into the magnetic exciting coil, solving the problems of how to set up and manufacture the flux sensors.
