Against the existing problems, a locomotive application security video surveillance system based on 3G wireless communication technologies was presented. The architecture, on board subsystem, wireless communication subsystem, and ground subsystem were detailed expounded. The system were indicated stable and reliable by test and on-car operation, which could provide the real-time on-line monitoring and full-range on-line technical service for locomotive, as well as remote on-line technical supporting for inspection and fault removal.
