Design and Realization of PCI-VME Bus Bridge Based on FPGA
In order to solve the discontinued problem of PCI-VME bridge chip in locomotive UIC gateway, a PCI-VME bridge based on FPGA was designed, which was used for implementing the data conversion between local PCI bus and VME bus communication of the system. The bridge's PCI IP core protocol resolution and finite state machine of PCI to VME protocol conversion design method were described in detailed. The intercommunication and interconnection of the equipment was tested by locomotive train network control system test platform. The test results verify that the bus bridge was able to realize PCI protocol resolution and VME communication data transmission in real time and reliably between PCI bus and VME bus. The research and development of this equipment provided a basic support for promoting the localization process of on-board electrical components based on VME bus in the field of China railway train.
