Concept and prototype structure performance of hybrid power traction shunting locomotive were expounded, emphasis on prototype development contents, technic measures, oil-saving and emission reduction effect and oil-saving test. By both calculation evaluation and test verification, hybrid power technology was proved realized the dual targets of energy high-efficiency and cyclic usage. Achievements of prototype developing were summarized.
