This paper compared and analyzed the differences in the lateral load of the frame and the inertia load of the suspension components between TB/T 3549.1—2019 and the standards UIC 615-4:2003 and EN 13749:2011. It concludes that TB/T 3549.1—2019 provides more comprehensive and clearer specifications for frame loads
which are more in line with the actual types of bogie frames in China. According to the requirements of TB/T 3549.1—2019
finite element analysis was conducted to analyze the strength of a locomotive frame. Optimization improvements targeting weak structural areas were implemented
and the effectiveness of the improvements was validated through simulation tests
achieving an increase in the fatigue strength safety margin of the frame and the overall safety enhancement. The optimization effectively reduces the probability of fatigue failure of the frame and improves the safety of rail vehicle operation.
