The design background of the FXN5C AC drive freight diesel locomotive was roughly described, and the con figuration, main technical parameters, traction and brake characteristics of the locomotive were brie fly described. The main transmission system, AC and DC auxiliary transmission system, locomotive microcomputer network control system, locomotive reconnection control,control console and electrical cabinet design schemes of the locomotive were mainly introduced, focusing on the working principle of each system, system composition and the use of parts. Finally, the evaluation status of locomotive operation was explained, and the test proved that the electrical system operated stably and reliably with excellent performance.
